Mike and his family have deep roots in Georgetown, Sussex County, Delaware. A lilfelong Delawarean, Mike was “born and raised” in Georgetown. An undergraduate of the University of Delaware, Mike received his Master Degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University.
As part of his Wealth Management business, Mike has continued his father’s tax business started in Georgetown in 1948. Other components of the Wealth Management practice include the Insurances and Investments divisions, which Mike started over twenty years ago.
Mike’s “hobby” for the past 8 years has been serving on the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission. “The Commish” enjoys being part of the oversight in the growth and development of the County he grew up in, lives and works in, and plans to retire in. Mike is a firm believer in preserving our sensitive environmental resources while protecting our property rights.
As a child growing up in Georgetown, Mike enjoyed the activities available through the community including Little League, Scouts, the public library, etc. As an adult, Mike has tried to begin repaying the debt of gratitude he owes these organizations and their volunteers for what they provided during his youth. As an adult, besides financial donations, Mike has served as a Little League Coach, Team Sponsor and Board Member. As his three children have grown and are no longer active in youth groups, Mike sought other avenues for continuing his community support. His search for community involvement led him to join the Georgetown Millsboro Rotary Club. Through the Rotary, Mike has been able to continue his community support and strives to abide by the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”. Besides the community support aspect of Rotary, Mike has enjoyed the camaraderie, information sharing and friendships of Rotarians.
